What a excellent team performance again from everyone. The conditions plus 14 men and a key man injured (we do it the hard way) we came away with a well deserved win and denied a Hereford team who new what they were doing any points. An excellent day which started with the best lunch todate and I for one appreciate all the hard work on and off the field which goes to making an enjoyable day. At 11-6 we were still in it but errors in the final third cost us in the end when we had them under pressure after their yellow card. And before the cynics say ' but it was only Walsall', they are a better side than several I've seen in Mids 1. They were always prepared to run the ball and often had Longton's defence under pressure. However, we held out and scored the tries when the opportunities came. Let's not get carried away with this but it is a big step on the road to recovery. It was good to see players wanting the ball ... Even with the league restructure and only 1 team being relegated, things are getting pretty hairy. Does anyone have any views on what can be done within the Club to try and avoid relegation? Maybe relegation could be a good thing given the recent changes at the Club - giving Longton Rugby time to regroup and maybe ...
